I actually tried something like that yesterday, with a "'," separator;
didn't work.

But your way works, thankyou .. provided I use quotes so the "|"
doesn't get interpreted by the shell as a "Pipe" symbol .. thus:
  qsub -l "arch=sol-amd64|lx24-amd64" MyJavaJob.sh
