[GE users] Cold restart of sgemaster

Sorry, I meant restarting sgemaster not sgeexecd.

What happens if you restart the sgeexecd on qmaster, do you loose all the running jobs ?

No, you don't need to restart anything. The changes take effect 
immediately.
