[GE users] no execd known on host

Log on to Grid1 please.
Use the command 'pgrep sge_execd' or 'ps -eaf | grep sge_execd' to see
if the execd is running.
Also please look at the messages file on Grid1

Also may I ask if you intend to run jobs on Grid3, the master node?
You only need execd running if it is to run jobs.
