[GE users] Scalapack issues

Are you building with the Sun compilers or with GCC?

In your makefile, check the line 

CDEFS = -Df77IsF2C -DNO_IEEE $(USEMPI)

If you are using GCC, you want it to look like how I have it above.
There are various other options for this variable, but this, in effect,
controls the number of underscores you get in your binary object files.
