[GE users] Telling SGE to use other interface than the one hostname is bound to..?

Yes, reconfigure the machine to get the:

eth0 - cl3
eth1 - master

back. Then create a file $SGE_ROOT/default/common/host_aliases with one 
line:

master cl3
