[GE users] Some confusion around the state "qw"

Thanks for the reference.  Although I'm sure we're all used to 'qw' by 
now, it is odd that the documentation doesn't show what 'q' means, and 
the docs you pointed out don't explain it either.  I guess another way 
of wording the question is, why is it 'qw', instead of just 'w'?
