It has nothing to do with NPTL vs LinuxThreads.  Each thread still has 
its own PID with NPTL.  However, in RHEL3, ps and top have been changed 
so that they only show one listing per threaded app by default. 
However, there are command line arguments for 'ps' to change that (and a 
keystroke in top once you've started it)
