Interesting, as for me it's working this way. Which is your default  
shell - not bash? The problem seems to be simply, that $LS_COLORS  
contains the variable "do", which isn't understood by this version of  
qtcsh (i.e. tcsh used by SGE).

You could try to echo $LS_COLORS and remove the faulty "do" part.
