this is due to host specific cluster queue settings. Before you can
remove a host from a hostgroup used a cluster queue it is required
you purge host specific settings in order to prevent configuration
trash remain in Grid Engine set-ups.

Luckily since 6.0u4 there is a qconf -purge switch that allows you
to remove host specific cluster queue settings in a very convenient
fashion. Since -purge option wasn't orderly documented before 6.0u7
it might be necessary to use

as preliminary documentation.

Unfortunately no - with qmon. With qstat we do have a workaround to
adjust queue names (see "SGE_LONG_QNAMES" in qstat(1)), but AFAICT
not for the job name. We dream since very long time of having a flexible
means to allow admins provide default output formats for the users, but
haven't found time to work on this until now :-(

Good idea.

For specifing fix dispatch order the cluster queue sequence number
(see "seq_no" in queue_conf(5)) is used. In your case you must override
the sequence number for your masterhost

   seq_no 0,[masterhost=1]

if you specify the scheduler shall primarily do queue sorting sequence based
in sched_conf(5)

   queue_sort_method seqno

you can be sure sequence numbers are considered irrespective of the current
host load.
