[GE users] Advanced Reservation

Marko,

as Stephan said we do not yet have AR with Grid Engine. Yet there is
a subset of AR use cases that can be solved based on 6.0 RR+BF

   http://gridengine.sunsource.net/nonav/source/browse/~checkout~/gridengine/doc/devel/rfe/resource_reservation.txt?content-type=text/plain

the idea is that RR-monitoring capabilities (see under 2d Monitoring") could
be used as a means to provide information on job reservations. Based on that
it were possible e.g. to write a set of scripts

   qarsub
   qarstat
    :

that could be used by your users to deal with advance reservations. Though
unfortunately the case you're asking for of requesting a reservation for a
specific time couldn't be solved either due to

   http://gridengine.sunsource.net/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=921

but possibly you mentioned this just to illustrate the difference between AR
and RR ...

Maybe this helps.

Regards,
Andreas
