As long as you got only a single job to wait for, it is somewhat
pointless. The case I meant actually was

   n=1000
   i=1
   while [ $i -le $n ]; do
      qsub -N Job$n.$$ script.sh
      i=`expr $i + 1`
      if [ $i -eq 1 ]; then
         job_names="Job$n.$$"
      else
         job_names="$job_names,Job$n.$$"
      fi
   done
   qrsh -hold_jid $JOBID sleep 0

Regards,
Andreas
