Hi Jon,

Try searching the SGE mail lists for "cpu affinity" for info about item
1.  For item 2, we use parallel environment definitions with allocation
rule of $fill_up, see man page sge_pe for more info.

I've been asked to see if there's a way to configure SGE so that jobs
are scheduled to run on in the following order of preference:

1) Cores on the same multi-core processor
2) Cores on the same multi-processor node
3) Everything else

The purpose of this is to minimize latency in a 28 node cluster that
uses a Gb switch to connect the nodes. Each node has 2 dual-core Opteron
280s.
We're currently using SGE 6.0.
