I'm using a VDT 1.6.1k implementation of Globus (both WS and non-WS)
with an SGE Integration kit from
http://www.lesc.ic.ac.uk/projects/SGE-GT4.html.

And the instructions on the LESC web-page decree that: "Your SGE
installation must also be configured with support for the reporting
logfile enabled, and that logfile must be accessible .."

However, it looks to me as though Globus uses (in sge.pm) 'qstat -j ..'
to determine job status. So I'm wondering whether 'reporting' is really
required.

Beyond that .. the reporting file grows forever .. so I'm also wondering
whether there's a safe way to roll it .. perhaps at weekly intervals (or
even perhaps daily, as is done with PBS log files).

Any ideas please?
