[GE users] first question - mail notification

Yes /usr/sbin/sendmail is redirected like this
/usr/sbin/sendmail -> /usr/sbin/ssmtp

If I do :
 /usr/sbin/ssmtp -s subject myemail at domain.com

with a message and send it, that works. I receive the mail. So this is not the part not working.

In addition to what others said:  you have an unconventional
(confusing!) setup if `sendmail' is the actual mail interface rather
than the transmission agent.  Normally, /bin/mail would invoke
/usr/sbin/sendmail (or /usr/lib/sendmail, say) actually to transmit
the mail it has composed.
