Hi,

I was testing mpd method of MPICH2-1.0.7rc2 on a 6 node SGE cluster with 9
processors.

qconf -sp mpich2-mpd gives:
pe_name           mpich2-mpd
slots             999
user_lists        NONE
xuser_lists       NONE
start_proc_args   /usr/SGE6/mpi/startmpi.sh $pe_hostfile
stop_proc_args    /usr/SGE6/mpi/stopmpi.sh
allocation_rule   $round_robin
control_slaves    FALSE
job_is_first_task TRUE
urgency_slots     min

qsub -pe mpich2-mpd 9 mpich2-mpd.sh  with following script:

 export MPIEXEC_RSH=rsh
export PATH=/home/aas/local/mpich2_mpd/bin:$PATH
echo Running on host `hostname`
echo Time is `date`
echo Directory is `pwd`
echo This job runs on the following processors:
cat $TMPDIR/machines
echo This job has allocated $NSLOTS processors
mpiexec -n $NSLOTS  /home/aas/par_procksi_Alone
exit 0

the job goes in running state for very long producing following as output:
Running on host legolas
Time is Wed Apr 30 11:30:59 BST 2008
Directory is /home/aas
This job runs on the following processors:
legolas:2
aragorn:1
justice:1
eomer:2
taramel:2
smeg:1
This job has allocated 9 processors
invalid "local" arg: -pmiserver

usage:
mpiexec [-h or -help or --help]    # get this message
mpiexec -file filename             # (or -f) filename contains XML job
description
mpiexec [global args] [local args] executable [args]
   where global args may be
-l                           # line labels by MPI rank
...
...
...

Could any one please provide any idea on how to resolve it?

many thanks for your time
Azhar
