Is there an acceptable format to list the nodes in the XXXX_HOST_LIST
(XXXX=EXEC, SUBMIT, ADMIN) for the SGE configuration file that is not
a single line?

I've think I've tried formats like:

EXEC_HOST_LIST="sge-login sge-sched  \
   bduc-i32-1	 bduc-i32-2    bduc-i32-3    \
   bduc-i32-4	 bduc-i32-5    bduc-i32-6    \
   bduc-amd64-1  bduc-amd64-2  bduc-amd64-3  \
   bduc-amd64-4  bduc-amd64-5  bduc-amd64-6  \
   bduc-amd64-19 bduc-amd64-20 bduc-amd64-21"

and without the '\', but neither works..
