[GE users] path or filename too long

The server systems are 64 bit and the GPFS filesystem has at this point 
12M inodes in use.
The client where I see problems is a 32 bit system....
So far I saw only this one job complaining.

I'll do all the recommended checks tomorrow, but I was planning an 
upgrade anyway.
