This IS the mysql server! It is installed.
And after installation there is no database, you have to create one.

*READ* "man mysql".

Check also the output of "chkconfig mysql". If you get "mysql off" do a
"chkconfig mysql on" if you want the mysql server to get started on
boot. Do a "rcmysql start" to start the server.

For more info about using mysql with ARCo someone else might help, I
never used ARCo. But is probable documented in the ARCo docs.
