[GE users] file permissions of directories and files created from jobs

Hey all,

Im finding that directories created from running jobs get permission
0755, and files get permission 0644. This is a different set of
permissions than if the same commands are run outside of SGE via a
terminal, including as the sge user.

Is this behavior intentional as a result of the installation flag
SET_FILE_PERMS? (ie., the installation step "Verifying and setting file
permissions"?) Or is it correct that this step is only for permissions
of the files and directories created through the installation?

I can't find any info (so far) in the docs that says SET_FILE_PERMS
determines the permissions of files and directories created via running
jobs (or some other configurable behavior).. but if this is the case, is
it possible to disable this behavior (without reinstalling)?

thanks,
-justin
