If the BDB server host is hostA, but SGE resolves it as hostA.domain, the BDB autoinstallation (inst_sge -db -auto <file>) will fail with a
message stating the installation was attempted on the localhost.

The reason is that the HOSTNAME_RESOLVING flag from the autoinstall file is never used.

Fix: Set ignore_fqdn to the HOSTNAME_RESOLVING value in a standalone BDB server autoinstallation scenario.

Workaround: Do also a qmaster installation (inst_sge -db -m -auto <file>).
