Hi all,

I've been scrounging around for some information on allowing multi-threaded mpi jobs in SGE and the best I've seen is creating multiple parallel environments based on the number of threads a la:

-pe threaded_mpi_2
-pe threaded_mpi_3
...
etc.

where the integer at the end represents the number of threads per node. I've also considered using a consumable complex attribute. The problem with that is that a load sensor would be needed and conflicts will occur during a single scheduling interval that involved scheduling a mix of single slot, standard mpi, and multi-threaded mpi.

How have people dealt with this problem before?

Many Thanks,
-Brian

Is there a limit set on the runtime of the queue ? Check the "limits" tag in
the queue configuration within the qmon.

(or run qconf -sq <queue-name> and check the s_rt and h_rt lines )
