   Wulfstat 
(http://manpages.ubuntu.com/manpages/intrepid/man1/wulfstat.1.html and 
http://www.phy.duke.edu/~rgb/Beowulf/Cruft/wulfstat/ ) is pretty good.

   You can write plugins for ganglia.
