[GE users] limiting # of assigned jobs to host (in all queues)

Guys, I think I may be missing something basic here, but I can't see how
to resolve this....

I have a set of machines (a hostgroup), each machine of which has a special
piece of hardware attached to it - this hardware (really just a graphics card)
is where the simulation work is really done. Since there's only one of
these pieces of hardware attached to each machine, each machine can only
support one job at a time.

OK, easy so far, right ? Well, the machines in this hostgroup happen to
have quad-core processors. So, the # of CPUs reported to the sge master
for each machine is 4. BUTTTTTT - I need to limit SGE to assigning just
one job at a time to each machine - how do I do that ?

I have 2 cluster queues, and in each of them I modified the # of slots
variable for this hostgroup to "1" (the default was 4). However, when I
test it, SGE assigns a job to both queues on a single machine - but I need
it to somehow realize that there's only 1 slot available on the entire
machine.... I'm stumped ... Is there something easy to configure that I'm
missing, or do I need to do something "special" or "complex" ?

    Thanks !

       John
