[GE users] no hosts in Inspect cluster

Hi Fred,

there are two parts to configure:

1. Get the jvm_thread running in the master

2. Get sgeinspect running

We have to solve 1. first. This means until telnet connect works.

To do that please check if it looks like this:

qconf -sconf
....
libjvm_path /Library/Java/Home/../Libraries/libjvm.dylib
additional_jvm_args -Xmx256m
....

otherwise change it qconf -mconf and restart the master. (Check if the
master really disappears with ps before restarting it again otherwise
kill it with kill -9)

Are the file permissions ok ? Is libjvm.dylib readable when you are the
'admin user' (user to whom belong the $SGE_ROOT files) ?

Here is the version that is installed on my machine:
Apple->About this Mac->More Info->Software->Frameworks:
JavaVM 12.4.1 9/10/09

If you still can't connect via telnet something else is going wrong. To
debug it you could use the following:

% source $SGE_ROOT/default/common/settings.csh
or
% . $SGE_ROOT/default/common/settings.sh
% qconf -km
% ps auxww | grep sge_qmaster
% cd $SGE_ROOT
% su
# source $SGE_ROOT/default/common/settings.csh
# source $SGE_ROOT/util/dl2.csh t + i
# $SGE_ROOT/bin/darwin???/sge_qmaster

look from jvm output maybe you can find some useful hint there.

Let me know if you can finally telnet or not. If yes we attack 2. ;)

Andre
