[GE users] Group membership limit?

I just confirmed for myself that this problem exists on Mac OS X
Server / Snow Leopard. I was using an older version of SGE 6.1u4
though due to the fact that it's a test server for a heavily regulated/
audited system.

The problem was that OS X by default added me to a ton of groups, this
was my original 'groups' output:

uid=508(chris) gid=20(staff) groups=20(staff),
402(com.apple.sharepoint.group.1),401(com.apple.access_screensharing-
disabled),204(_developer),100(_lpoperator),98(_lpadmin),
81(_appserveradm),80(admin),79(_appserverusr),61(localaccounts),
12(everyone),503(com.apple.local.ard_interact),
501(com.apple.local.ard_admin),500(com.apple.access_ssh-disabled),
403(com.apple.sharepoint.group.2),504(com.apple.local.ard_manage),
404(com.apple.sharepoint.group.3),502(com.apple.local.ard_reports

After pairing down my group memberships to:

  uid=508(chris) gid=20(staff) groups=20(staff),
402(com.apple.sharepoint.group.1),61(localaccounts),12(everyone),
403(com.apple.sharepoint.group.2),404(com.apple.sharepoint.group.3)

... I was able to run jobs again.

As a side note I found that it was 100% necessary to write launchd
scripts for SGE and Snow Leopard OS X - both the SystemStarter() and
the init scripts in $SGE_ROOT/$SGE_CELL/common/ are no longer reliable
or stable on the latest versions of Mac OS X.
