Thanks again Daniel for your reply. I tried several different ways to mount the filesystem, but none of them worked. I want the /export/home/ filesystem on the headnode to be accessable from each of the subnodes.

This is what the fstab file looks like on the headnode:
# This file is edited by fstab-sync - see 'man fstab-sync' for details
LABEL=/1                            /                             ext3          defaults        1 1
none                                    /dev/pts                 devpts       gid=5,mode=620  0 0
none                                     /dev/shm                tmpfs       defaults        0 0
/dev/md0                             /export                     ext3        defaults        0 0
none                                    /proc                       proc         defaults        0 0
none                                   /sys                         sysfs         defaults        0 0
LABEL=/var                      /var                          ext3          defaults        1 2

# The ram-backed filesystem for ganglia RRD graph databases.
tmpfs /var/lib/ganglia/rrds tmpfs size=252709000,gid=nobody,uid=nobody,defaults 1 0
/dev/hda                /media/cdrom            auto    pamconsole,exec,noauto,managed 0 0

and then the fstab file for one of the subnodes:
# This file is edited by fstab-sync - see 'man fstab-sync' for details
LABEL=/                                   /                              ext3    defaults        1 1
none                                          /dev/pts                  devpts  gid=5,mode=620  0 0
none                                         /dev/shm                tmpfs   defaults        0 0
none                                         /proc                       proc    defaults        0 0
LABEL=/state/partition          /state/partition1     ext3    defaults        1 2
none                                        /sys                          sysfs   defaults        0 0
LABEL=/var                           /var                          ext3    defaults        1 2
/dev/sda3                               swap                       swap    defaults        0 0
10.54.1.100:/mnt/RAID/FSDATA    /data       nfs rw 0 0
10.54.1.100:/mnt/RAID/apps           /apps       nfs rw 0 0
10.54.1.100:/scratch                        /scratch    nfs rw 0 0

Can you suggest how to make /export/home visible to the subnode? IP address of the headnode is 10.1.1.13, name is cluster.mrilab.net.
Thank you very much,
Jeff
