Another way would be to introduce a new relation "uniq" in the complex configuration as a special type of "string". Most often "*" would be requested then for this string (and all must be the same once it is elected), but would allow to request "opteron*" when you have "opteron275" and "opteron2384" in the cluster besides several "xeon...".
