It's not (apparently) in a host group in that 
  $ qconf -shgrp @long-adc |grep a64-101

returns nothing. 

And there are no orphaned jobs that I can tell that are still running 
on those nodes. ie:
    $ qstat -u '*' | grep a64-101

returns nothing.  I previously ran down all jobs that qstat indicated 
were running on those nodes and explicitly removed them from 
<SGE_ROOT>/spool/qmaster/jobs, and then restarted the qmaster and 
shadow master.
