[GE users] How to download older versions?

It's not hard at all to upgrade from u3 to u5. I went from u2 to u5
earlier this year - I set up a "parallel" environment for u5 - just
do a qmaster install, changing the ports and cell name to something
different than your u3 settings. Then you can copy the software to
some execute hosts, start the sge_execd process on them, and run
both versions on them for a while if you want (of course, be wary
of overloading the execute hosts). To submit to the new version,
just set your SGE environmental variables (ie, ports, cell name, and
SGE locations) to the new set instead of the old set.

Also, I found the following procedure to work very well to
save and load the SGE configuration, so you don't have to
manually go in and reset all your configs:

   #######################################################
   # also, here is the procedure for copying the SGE configuration from
   # an "old" installation to the newly installed one:
   # NOTE ! the following commands must be run on the old SGE master !
   # first, set the old environment
     # source /sim/sge/*2u2/common/settings.sh
   # and run the save config command
     # cd /opt/sge/6.2u2/util/upgrade_modules
     # ./save_sge_config.sh /admin/ttt/sge_config
   # NOTE ! the following commands must be run on the new SGE master !
   # now set the new environment
     # source /sim/sge/*2u5/common/settings.sh
   # and run the load config command
     # cd /opt/sge/6.2u5/util/upgrade_modules
     # ./load_sge_config.sh /admin/ttt/sge_config
   # (note that the save and load commands run while their
   # respective SGE master daemons are running)
   #######################################################
