It seems like gridengine/source/libs/comm/cl_commlib.c sets up a
"global_host_cache".

Aside from restarting rcsge on the frontend node, is there a way to
clear the internal hostname cache? Can I confirm that restarting rcsge
on the frontend node does not affect jobs on the compute nodes?

Using rocks-sge-qmaster-5.3p6-1 right now.

Thanks,
KL
Using rocks-sge-qmaster-5.3p6-1 right now.

--- snap ---

The cl_commlib.c module was developed for 6.0! The 5.3p6 version uses
sge_commd to resolve hostnames and has no cache at all.
So I don't understand the question.

The only way to change the hostcache refresh timeout is described in the following
issue: http://gridengine.sunsource.net/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=1358

Hope this helps,

Christian
