"scripts/distinst -all -basedir
/cod_home/hp150085/sge60devel01/ lx24-amd64"
creates the basedir
"/cod_home/hp150085/sge60devel01/undefined"

Workaround: Don't use the switch -basedir, set the
environment variable SGE_ROOT instead.

   ------- Additional comments from andy Wed Mar 3 09:29:27 -0700 2004 -------
-basedir aloned oes not work, must be used together with "-vdir"
switch.

Resulting directory is $BASEDIR/$VERSIONDIR which can be set in
aimk.private as well.

The reason for the wrong behavior (correct is to reject this command
line) wrong double quote (") which cause a portion of the code to be
commented out.

   ------- Additional comments from pollinger Fri Mar 5 07:08:03 -0700 2004 -------
Verified. Now -basedir alone is rejected, it is only accepted in
conjunction with -vdir.

scheduler crashes in functional ticket calculation
on AMD64

The crash happens already with a few jobs (e.g.
200) when functional tickets are set to a non-zero
value and functional shares are configured for a
few projects, users and departments.

There is a strong indication of a heap corrpution
since the crash occurs in completely different
functions. Also a busy infinite loop in the
malloc() call has been seen.

So far it only could be reproduced on Linux AMD64.

The crash also happens in SGEEE 5.3p5.

reassigned

Tested under solaris64 and does not crash!

I think it is fixed. At least it did not crash anymore after
my changes, but I did not understand the bug.
