#1437 fixed builtin qlogin client fails on 8.1.1 and 8.1.2 d.munro@…
Description

The qlogin builtin client fails to start a shell on versions since 8.1.0. This is what I get when running on 8.1.2

% qlogin Your job 120 ("QLOGIN") has been submitted waiting for interactive job to be scheduled ... Your interactive job 120 has been successfully scheduled. Establishing builtin session to host dingly.ph.surrey.ac.uk ... error: commlib error: got read error (closing "dingly.ph.surrey.ac.uk/shepherd_ijs/2") %

If I set up debugging to capture a trace and debug logs as described elsewhere, this is what I get in the terminal windows now with the captured logs in the attached files.

#1457 wontfix qstat reports urgency slots rather than real/range value wish

If you set the urgency slots of a pe to a constant then a normal 'no flags' qstat will report that as the number of slots a job requesting the job requires: wish@iseisd-ws113:~$ qstat|tail -n +3 |awk '{print $1}'|xargs -n 1 qstat -j '{}' |grep 'parallel';qstat parallel environment: smp range: 2 parallel environment: smp range: 2 parallel environment: smp range: 4 parallel environment: smp range: 4 parallel environment: smp range: 2-4 parallel environment: smp range: 2,3 job-ID prior name user state submit/start at queue slots ja-task-ID

#1458 wontfix urgency_slots should apply to parallel jobs requesting a fixed number of slots wish
Description

rrcontr is multiplied by urgency slots where a range is requested but when pe_min=pe_max then the actaul number of slots requested. This does not appear to be a very useful behavior. Having jobs where pe_min=pe_max also use the urgency_slots figure would lead to more consistent behavior.
