Issue #: 655 Platform: All Reporter: joga (joga) Component: gridengine OS: All Subcomponent: doc Version: current CC: None defined Status: NEW Priority: P3 Resolution: Issue type: ENHANCEMENT Target milestone: --- Assigned to: markob (markob) QA Contact: skonta URL: * Summary: qmake dynamic allocation Status whiteboard: Attachments: Issue 655 blocks: Votes for issue 655: Opened: Sat Jan 31 01:41:00 -0700 2004 ------------------------ A new feature has been implemented for qmake: dynamic allocation. If no parallel environment is requested in the qmake commandline, dynamic allocation will be activated. With dynamic allocation, for each make rule a Grid Engine qrsh job is submitted. The GNU make -j option can be used to define a maximum number of parallel jobs. There is a change in the behaviour of qmake: The former qmake implicitly requested a parallel environment "make" if no parallel environment was specified on the qmake commandline - the new qmake uses dynamic allocation in this case. See also issue 338 and the manpage qmake.1. ------- Additional comments from andreas Thu Oct 21 07:44:29 -0700 2004 ------- Assign Admin/User/Install guide related issues to Mark O'Brien. ------- Additional comments from surajp Mon Mar 23 01:50:54 -0700 2009 ------- Reassigning issue to Sandra.
