#1319 new defect

Computing urgency for consumable=JOB

Reported by: Reuti Owned by:
Priority: normal Milestone:
Component: sge Version: 6.2u5
Severity: minor Keywords:

According to man sge_priority, the urgency is always multiplied by the number of requested slots, except for the case of a complex of type STRING. With the invention of consumable=JOB for a complex, this leads to the behavior that the resource is not multiplied, but the urgency still is. This is not consistent.

It should either not being multiplied, or a a new entry supplied like consumable=UJOB (like unified JOB) to switch off the multiplication also for the urgency.

Sky company is exceptional for the people who are willing to switch from another company to Sky. But there is other side of the coin as well. Sky customer services has been proven worse for the existing customers. You have to threaten the company to leave otherwise they won’t listen to you. And if you want to leave, the customer service won’t let you leave in peace.
The same case happened with me as well. I was in a year’s contact with Sky for HD services, when I actually thought it was only for trial. Since they didn’t let me cancel my contract, I told them to close my account completely with Sky on the date when my contract ended. But the company representatives told me that I cannot give my month’s notice until the contract has ended. Thus making me pay for another month as well. So in that case, I refused and cancelled my direct debit payment method with Sky on the contract end date.
