Issue #: 288 Platform: All Reporter: joga (joga) Component: gridengine OS: All Subcomponent: clients Version: current CC: None defined Status: NEW Priority: P3 Resolution: Issue type: ENHANCEMENT Target milestone: --- Assigned to: andreas (andreas) QA Contact: roland URL: * Summary: qtcsh should be able to submit jobs using qsub Status whiteboard: Attachments: Issue 288 blocks: Votes for issue 288: Opened: Thu Jun 13 05:27:00 -0700 2002 ------------------------ Especially for jobs started in the background, qtcsh could use qsub to submit the job instead of qrsh. Using qsub would be possible for all jobs that redirect stdout and stderr and need no input. These can be pure batch jobs, but also typical application calls that are launched in the background, like netscape, xterm etc. Advantage would be reduced overhead compared to qrsh. ------- Additional comments from joga Thu Jun 13 05:31:53 -0700 2002 ------- Two issues have to be solved before qtcsh can use qsub as submission interface: - binary submission (issue 25) and - wait for job end (issue 72) ------- Additional comments from sgrell Mon Dec 12 03:12:26 -0700 2005 ------- Changed subcomponent. Stephan
