Issue #: 2907 Platform: PC Reporter: pollinger (pollinger) Component: gridengine OS: Windows XP Subcomponent: install Version: 6.2u2beta CC: None defined Status: NEW Priority: P4 Resolution: Issue type: DEFECT Target milestone: --- Assigned to: dom (dom) QA Contact: dom URL: * Summary: execd intallation on Windows doesn't provide global spool dir as default, even if it's local Status whiteboard: Attachments: Issue 2907 blocks: Votes for issue 2907: Opened: Sun Feb 8 07:08:00 -0700 2009 ------------------------ In the Execd installation on Windows, the user is forced to enter a spool directory, even if the spool directory from the global configuration (set during the QMaster installation) is a local one on all machines. On all Unix and Linux hosts, the spool directory from the global configuration is provided as the default and the user is asked if (s)he want's to change it. Instead of forcing the user to enter a spool directory, the installation should test if this spool directory is local to the current host. If yes, it should just behave like on Unix (and if the user enters a new spool directory, the installation should check if this is local, too). If no, it should force the user to enter a local one.
