Issue #: 2921 Platform: Sun Reporter: crei (crei) Component: gridengine OS: All Subcomponent: kernel Version: 6.2u2beta CC: None defined Status: NEW Priority: P3 Resolution: Issue type: ENHANCEMENT Target milestone: --- Assigned to: andreas (andreas) QA Contact: andreas URL: * Summary: qmaster must support host renaming in a consistent way Status whiteboard: Attachments: Issue 2921 blocks: Votes for issue 2921: Opened: Thu Feb 19 02:24:00 -0700 2009 ------------------------ When renaming hosts (e.g. by using an host_aliases file) and restarting the qmaster daemon the spooled objects which are read at startup are re-resolved. The re-resolving is not consequent enough. The queue instances still have the old name. The @allhosts group still contains the old host name. Other problems might be the used path to the spool directory of the installed execution deamon on that renamed host. WORKAROUND: Remove the host from gridengine qmaster before renameing it. Then add the host from scratch.
