Issue #: 2941 Platform: Sun Reporter: petrik (petrik) Component: gridengine OS: other Subcomponent: clients Version: 6.2u2 CC: None defined Status: STARTED Priority: P3 Resolution: Issue type: DEFECT Target milestone: --- Assigned to: petrik (petrik) QA Contact: roland URL: * Summary: Installing BDB server always fails with a timeout state on non-solaris systems Status whiteboard: Attachments: Issue 2941 blocks: Votes for issue 2941: Opened: Fri Feb 27 06:33:00 -0700 2009 ------------------------ When installing the BDB server via GUI installer the operation never finishes. The installation is actually finished, but the BDB server process runs as for of a foreground process group, blocking the install script form returning. Once the BDB server is stopped the installation sucessfully finished. Works correctly on Soalris. Issue seen on Linux and MacOS. WORKAROUND: Do not use gui-installer to install BDB server when Solaris/OpenSolaris is not the target platform. Use the CLI: ./inst_sge -db to install BDB server manually before starting the GUI installer. ------- Additional comments from petrik Fri Feb 27 06:34:23 -0700 2009 ------- Will fix for 6.2u3
