Issue #: 366 Platform: All Reporter: svdavidson (svdavidson) Component: gridengine OS: All Subcomponent: clients Version: 5.3 CC: None defined Status: NEW Priority: P3 Resolution: Issue type: ENHANCEMENT Target milestone: --- Assigned to: andreas (andreas) QA Contact: roland URL: * Summary: need new accounting field for when a job was first eligible to run Status whiteboard: Attachments: Issue 366 blocks: Votes for issue 366: Opened: Mon Aug 26 11:49:00 -0700 2002 ------------------------ One of Raytheon's customers, ARL, has requested that a field be added to the accounting data. The new field would be the time that the job is eligible to start. This would be different from the qsub time in at least three cases: 1. a predecessor job was specified 2. a future start time was specified 3. the job was initially placed on hold This field is needed because the DOD Modernization Office which manages the MSRC centers like ARL requires each MSRC to measure the performance of their system using a calculation they call an expansion factor. Two of the terms in this calculation are the run time and the queue wait time. The queue wait time is the time from when the job was eligible to run until it actually started running. Currently, they use the qsub time for their calculation, which reflects badly on ARL and on Grid Engine. ------- Additional comments from sgrell Mon Dec 12 03:17:12 -0700 2005 ------- Changed subcomponent.
